Clinical Psychologist B.A Hons, M. A. Clinical Psychology

(he/him)

My career began as I high school teacher before qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2008. My training in psychology was eclectic, including training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic principles, Narrative Therapy and family Systems work.

I have worked in South Africa, the USA and Australia in various roles, both in the Public and Private Health settings. During this time, I have developed a strong interest in Attachment theory, which grounds my work with clients now.

I’ll work with you to set goals for our sessions, focusing on changing problematic behaviours, addressing difficult emotions, and helping you lead a more fulfilling life. I work with older teenagers 16+ and adults across the lifespan spectrum, delving into your history and family background to understand the roots of your challenges, often tracing back to childhood.

I use a Psychodynamic/Attachment approach, but I may also employ Cognitive Behavioural support techniques to bring relief of symptoms now. I will work alongside you to explore and understand the impact of life experiences, and the challenges you face now.

I work with clients experiencing a range of difficulties. These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, work stress, identity and sexuality concerns, life transitions, chronic illness, and relationship difficulties. Additionally, I work with NDIS clients (Self or Plan Managed) and those in the Workers Compensation process.
