WorkCover Wa is the government agency responsible for regulating and administering the workers compensation scheme in WA under the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023.
The scheme ensures workers who suffer a work-related injury or illness are compensated for lost earnings, medical expenses, and other associated costs, and assists injured workers to achieve a safe and sustained return to work.

Allied health providers include chiropractors, clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, psychologists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, acupuncturists, mental health social workers and workplace rehabilitation providers.

These groups are recognised by WorkCover WA and contribute towards the Agency’s common goal of ensuring that an injured worker can return to or remain at work following an injury.

Recover and Return to Work Safely

Our psychologists provide tailored support and assessments for WorkCover claims. Get in touch to start your journey toward recovery and stability.

Our psychologists at Health Sense Psychology and Wellness can assist with psychological assessments, reports, pain management &/or providing psychologically based strategies for those who have experienced ‘post-trauma’ following a Motor Vehicle Accident or Injury at their Workplace.

Whilst most injuries (physical or psychological) naturally heal over the medium to long term, psychological intervention is often required in order for the client to fully recover and return to a relatively normal functioning life.

Some clients however may have experienced significant physical or psychological injuries which require more ongoing support by a psychologist. In these cases a combination of multiple compatible treatments (by allied health specialists) are generally recommended and tailored to meet the need of each individual case. These strategies have proven to lessen the risk of large financial claims being made by clients over the long term for agencies.

Some of the agencies we work with are ICWA, WA WorkCover and Comcare.

Your First Visit

Is this your first time? Not sure what to bring or what to expect? Find out Everything you need to know about your first visit with us.

The Process

To book an appointment with one of our practitioners we will require a GP referral from your treating Doctor outlining your Work Cover claim and the recommendation for psychological therapy.

Your referral will need to be provided along with your Workers Compensation Claim outlining your Case Managers details, your approval for psychological therapy, the number of sessions they will fund and if a treatment/progress report is required at the end of the session allowance.

Your treating psychologist may also request your Lawyers details (if applicable) along with any supporting information/documents to help build a background to your claim.

Once we have received this information, we can then book you with the most suitable practitioner for your needs.

We also recommend you ask your treating Doctor for a Mental Health Care Plan as there can be long delays between session/funding approval. The Mental Health Care Plan will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year and in some cases the out-of-pocket expense can be submitted to your Case Manager for reimbursement for your treatment.
