To receive fully funded counselling treatment, you need to have a Veteran White Card that covers mental health. Veteran Gold Card holders are already eligible for mental health treatment and are entitled to 10 sessions with no financial cost to yourself.
If you’re unsure if your DVA white card covers mental health treatment please reach out to the Department of Veterans Affairs on 1800 838 372 or log into your MyService account to check your specific treatments listed.
Our qualified and experienced practitioners can support our DVA clients with the following presentations:
- Mental health conditions associated with physical injury/pain
- Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (cPTSD)
- Grief/ loss
- Depressive Disorder
- Anxiety Disorder
- Alcohol and/or substance use
- Adjustment disorder

Open Arms
Bupa are working with Open Arms to provide high-quality, evidence based mental health services to Australian veterans and their families. Delivered through a network of Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, these services are available across Australia.
Health Sense Psychology and Wellness are privileged to be part of this scheme by offering free confidential counselling services to anyone who has served in the ADF, and their families.
Opens Arms offer a range of services to:
- Current Serving ADF personnel
- Ex-Serving
- Partners of current and ex-serving ADF personnel
- Family members of current and ex-serving ADF personnel
- Children of current and ex-serving ADF personnel
- where there has been a death of a Service person, Parents and siblings can also access their services.
