Health Sense Psychology and Wellness is affiliated with several organisations to provide psychology and counselling sessions to their employees under an EAP program. In most cases the employer will make this service available to you and your family at no direct cost to you.

This is a short-term, problem-solving service that is in place to support you through your presenting issue, so it is not directly impacting your work performance or causing you to take extended leave from your organisation. If longer-term support is needed our psychologist and counsellors will continue to support you as a private client. If this is the case, we would discuss fees with you and recommend you attend your GP for a referral and Mental Health Care Plan or you may wish to use your private health insurance to assist with a rebate.

Having an independent and private EAP provider means you can attend sessions outside of work hours for greater confidentiality.

The number of sessions funded vary between organisations but usually are limited to 6 one-hour sessions per calendar year.

All EAP services are confidential, with the following exceptions:

  • consent by the client
  • where there is a risk to the safety of the client, or others
  • comply with statutory duties (e.g. mandatory reporting)
  • comply with a court order or subpoena
