Supporting individuals who have experienced challenges related to family history and attachment is an area of particular focus for me. These difficulties can present in various ways, such as struggles with interpersonal relationships, emotional dysregulation, or deeply ingrained negative beliefs about oneself and others.
I have found Schema Therapy to be a powerful framework for addressing these complex issues. This approach focuses on identifying and modifying long-standing patterns, or schemas, that developed early in life and continue influencing thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in adulthood. Given the depth and complexity involved, I often work with clients on a medium-to-long-term basis, allowing us to explore these deeply ingrained patterns at a pace that feels comfortable and conducive to lasting growth and healing.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me juggling my other passions. I’m currently on an exciting journey towards becoming a clinically endorsed psychologist, pursuing my Master of Applied Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Murdoch University.
But life isn’t all work and study! In my downtime, I’m often accompanied by my four-legged therapist, Sammy – a playful 2-year-old Golden Retriever with an infectious zest for life. Whether we’re feeling the sand between our toes (and paws) at the beach, or simply lounging in the backyard, Sammy reminds me daily of the simple joys in life. Her unconditional love and boundless energy not only keep me grounded but also reinforce the importance of balance and self-care – lessons I’m always eager to share with my clients.
